OK, Dancing with the Stars is certainly not my beat. I really haven’t even been tuning in this season. Our own Melissa Friedman’s the one to do the weekly recaps. Hope you’ve been reading them. Here’s the thing. When I saw the video for this Team Foxing Awesome performance in my news feed on Facebook, I watched. And then I watched it again. And then I went to see if the clip existed on ABC.com. It did. So I watched it a third (and maybe a fourth time). So, for me, it’s definitely a rewind and repeat moment.
Team Foxing Awesome consisted of:
Amber Riley and her partner, Derek Hough
Jack Osbourne and his partner, Cheryl Burke
Corbin Bleu and his partner, Karina Smirnoff
Brant Daugherty and his partner, Peta Murgatroyd
And you know what? Team Foxing Awesome killed it. The routine was set to some strange, fast, wonderfully cheesy Ylvis tune called “The Fox.” I may have to hit iTunes to download that ditty and add it to my workout playlist. In fact, I wonder how many people are downloading that song today?
The team’s choreography was quick and in sync and just plain fun. There were costume changes for the guys and when Jack Osbourne came out in the fox suit, it added a whole new level of awesomeness to the dance. Corbin Bleu’s portion of the routine with Karina was simply glorious, but really, I loved how much every single celebrity contributed to the overall phenomenal performance.
And as their reward, TFA easily won over the judges — including Len — and they got a perfect 30 to add to their overall scores. This was a great Halloween treat, don’t you think? I might have to watch it a few more times just to get in the mood for Oct. 31.
I was impressed, Dancing with the Stars. I might have to watch the rest of the season just to see if anything else will live up to Team Foxing Awesome.
