BITE-worthy Moment: Klaus Daggers Elijah, The Originals “Always and Forever”

I did not see that coming. I can honestly say it’s a surprise each and every time Klaus stakes one of his family members through the heart. It’s brutal to watch, but Klaus always has his reasons. I actually like that Elijah and the rest of his siblings keep giving Klaus chances, but that will only last so long  – especially when they are just trying to be there for him. I guess ‘always and forever’ is a good pledge to make, but at some point Klaus needs to deliver on his end of the bargain and start really believing his family will there for him no matter what.

Klaus: “In my desire to reclaim this town, to steal from Marcel that which he holds most dear I have realized one massive vulnerability, one weakness that Marcel could exploit.”
Elijah: “And what is that?
Klaus: “You. Forgive me, my brother. There is no power in love. Mercy makes you weak. Family makes you weak. If I’m going to win this war I have to do it alone.”

If Klaus hates anything, it’s weakness and he obviously sees his family as his greatest weakness. Now that he’s taken care of Elijah I wonder what he’ll have in store for Phoebe Tonkin‘s Hayley. Are she and the baby safe or are they one more vulnerability Klaus cannot afford to have around? Either way, Klaus is in for a serious battle with Marcel. He made Marcel in his image all those years ago and now his protegé has surpassed him.

Klaus won’t be without family for long though. Claire Holt‘s Rebecca is a series regular so it’s only a matter of time before she arrives in New Orleans. Hopefully she can convince Klaus to un-dagger their brother, although I know Daniel Gillies is in another show that films at the same time (Saving Hope). I’m glad he’s working so much, but I like Elijah so I want him around as much as possible. I am curious to see how either Klaus alone or Klaus, Rebecca and Elijah take Marcel down. Charles Michael Davis‘ Marcel is a really fun and clever villain – you have to be smart to stay a few steps ahead of Klaus. I like that he’s got a secret weapon in Danielle Campbell‘s Davina. I just wonder how long she’ll stay hidden and if the Original siblings will try to control her themselves or help get her free of Marcel (if that’s even what she wants). This is gonna be good.

The Originals airs Tuesdays at 8/7c on the CW.
