[WARNING: Spoilers for the premiere episode]
NBC’s Parks and Recreation is back and starting season six off big.
“London” Synopsis: Leslie (Amy Poehler) wins an award from an international Women in Government organization, and travels to London with Ben (Adam Scott), Andy (Chris Pratt), April (Aubrey Plaza) and Ron (Nick Offerman) to accept it. Tom (Aziz Ansari) hunts down the mysterious businessman who is trying to put Rent-a-Swag out of business, while Ann (Rashida Jones) and Chris (Rob Lowe) settle into the next phase of their relationship, Jim O’Heir and Retta also star.
Some details you need to know:
- While the show is still on Thursdays, it’s going to kick off the evening at a new time of 8/7c.
- The premiere is an hourlong and totally worth it, by the way.
- Much of it takes place in London, England — Leslie is there to accept an award.
- Don’t worry the entire cast does appear so while Leslie, Ben, Ron, April and Andy are abroad, you will get to see what’s going on in Pawnee.
- Heidi Klum (Project Runway, America’s Got Talent) and Henry Winkler (Happy Days, Arrested Development) are just two of the big guest stars. Klum plays another politician getting the same award Leslie is. And Winkler — well, we’re not going to give anything away. But he plays a key role in the Pawnee portion of things. Winkler’s always great but I really liked the job Heidi did, too.
- I really loved Andy in this episode. Something surprising happens to him. And I love how supportive April is about it.
- Ron Swanson’s hatred of all things non-American is awesome. But he does manage to have a really great moment and it is just heartwarming. Yes, I said heartwarming for something that has to do with Ron Swanson. Crazy, I know.
- Ann and Chris are just adorable together. As you may know, Rashida Jones and Rob Lowe are leaving the show mid-season, so I’m going to savor every moment we have with them.
- Tom is in a world of trouble with his business. He figures out a few things and now he has to deal with it all.
- Look for the Leslie Knope-style perkiness to suffer a bit of a setback.
