Did you know the Jive was a Latin Dance? Me neither! Not only do the dancers have to dance but there was an elimination on the same night. Can you say stressful? What’s up with Len? Did he drink a happy juice? Because most of the time he is being more generous than Carrie Ann and Bruno.Â
Remember: Latin Night will end with the first elimination of the season, and it will be determined by the previous week’s judges’ votes and fan votes combined with the judges’ votes from this episode. But first let’s talk about what happened last night:
Elizabeth and Val
Dance: Samba
She’s a great dancer and did an amazing job with Val. Val, has made it clear that he is now a Jessie Spano fan. Val –remember she is married, to Ralph Lauren’s son. Behave yourself.
Score: 8-Carrie Ann, 9-Len, 8-Bruno; Total: 25
Voting Number: 800-868-3405
Christina and Mark
Dance: Paso Doble
Great dance! I always worry when Mark makes his dances a little “different†but the judges loved it. Christina came across with more confidence than last week. (Hello, J-Lo was in the audience last week, so how could she not be nervous? Just saying….)
Score: 9-Carrie Ann, 8-Len, 8-Bruno; Total: 25
Voting Number: 800-868-3401
Bill and Emma
Dance: Jive
I think it’s safe to say that Bill Engvall is the Redneck Dance King! I have to say, he is still impressing me and I feel that he is probably the best of the comedians to come on DWTS. (I still love you Andy Dick!!!)
Score: 7-Carrie Ann, 7-Len, 6-Bruno; Total Score: 21
Voting Number: 800-868-3409
Jack and Cheryl
Dance: Rumba
Jack’s mom, the fabulous Sharon Osbourne, visited the duo during the rehearsals. Her advice to her son was to get the terrified look off of his face. Also it’s a little gross to have your mom give you advice about a sexy dance, even if your mom is Sharon Osbourne. They ended up doing really well. And in the audience was Sharon, Ozzy and Kelly Osbourne. You can say whatever about this family but they really stick together!
Score: 8-Carrie Ann, 8-Len, 8-Bruno, Total: 24
Voting Number: 800-868-3402
Keyshawn and Sharna
Dance: Samba
He almost dropped Sharna. That is all.
Score: 6-Carrie Ann, 6-Len, 6-Bruno; Total: 18
Voting Number: 800-868-3408
Snooki and Sasha
Dance: Rumba
Not as great as last week and they did lifts. (Carrie Ann is on the lift patrol) Snooki looked mad, but they did make it through to next week. (I will discuss elimination more below.)
Score: 6-Carrie Ann, 7-Len, 7-Bruno; Total: 20
Voting Number: 800-868-3412
Leah and Tony
Dance: Samba
I’m a fan. As great as she did, I think she can even do better. Leah is very hard on herself and part of that is dealing with her personal stuff. I predict that she will continue to get better and better.
Score: 8- Carrie Ann, 8- Len, 8-Bruno; Total: 24
Voting Number: 800-868-3411
Bill Nye and Tyne
Dance: Paso doble
I am about to make a very bold statement. One of my favorite dances of all seasons! Yes, technically Bill Nye needs more work but entertainment value alone is worth a ten. I liked that Len apologized to Bill Nye about how he scored him last week. (I still can’t just call him Bill!) I loved how they had the “geeks†in the audience to support him. I feel that Bill Nye is not going away anytime soon! Long live the Science Guy!
Score: 6-Carrie Ann, 5-Len, 6-Bruno; Total: 17
Voting Number: 800-868-3404
Corbin and Karina
Dance: Jive
Here’s the thing: I like Corbin and I like Karina. But I’m having a very difficult time rooting for them because he’s just too good. Also, he needs to be a tad more humble then he has been. We will see how he does with the hardcore ballroom stuff.
Score: 9-Carrie Ann, 8-Len, 9-Bruno; Total: 26
Voting Number: 800-868-3406
Valerie and Tristan
Dance: Paso doble
Anyone else get nervous when they showed that she fell in rehearsals? Me too. There’s no secret that Tristan is so cute and handsome. But when he got emotional watching Valerie, it made me love him just a little more. Like many I am inspired by this woman. What I admire is she doesn’t want the judges to be too nice to her. She did mess up and it was acknowledged and that is important. I think Bruno was a little generous with his score. I am a fan of this woman and I want her to get better and better!
Score: 6-Carrie Ann, 6-Len, 7-Bruno; Total: 19
Voting Number: 800-868-3410
Brandt and Peta
Dance: Rumba
Talk about two people having chemistry! I mean get a room!
Score: 8-Carrie Ann, 7- Len, 8-Bruno; Total: 23
Voting number: 800-868-3403
Amber and Derek
Dance: Jive
I have high hopes for these two! They did great this week. What is interesting is that sometimes the complaints that the judges have is something that is difficult to see on television. He spoke of Amber having flat feet. It would be really helpful to have playback for stuff like that. They really need to hire me at this show!
Score: 8-Carrie Ann, 8-Len, 8-Bruno; Total: 24
Voting Number: 800-868-3407

Then came the elimination. The first couple to go was Keyshawn and Sharna. I think America got it right this time. Sharna is now free to do the big dance numbers! Don’t you remember the “Who runs the World†dance from last season. That’s all Sharna. Who will go next week? We shall see.
P.S. One thing that I am excited about that we found out last night is there will be some guest hosts. That includes Julianne Hough! I think that’s amazing. (DWTS note that I had that idea before too! Just saying…..)
Until next week…………

3 Moments of Goodness from Brooklyn Nine-Nine “Johnny and Dora”
