Reelz Channel has become the go-to for Canadian production pick-ups (Bomb Girls, XIII, True Justice, and the upcoming Cracked) in the U.S. (which means I LOVE them), and their latest acquisition is the movie Delete, premiering Monday night at 8/7c. Whereas the recent Ring of Fire was a four-hour affair over two nights, Delete is being run as a two-and-a-half hour movie (it was part of a trio of mini-series, alongside RoF and Eve of Destruction, which aired on Reelz this summer, that were filmed concurrently in Vancouver last July).

Anchored by fan favorite Seth Green, the rest of the cast is a who’s who of familiar Canadian faces, including Ally McBeal‘s Gil Bellows, Being Erica‘s Erin Karpluk, The Killing‘s Ryan Robbins, Keir Gilchrist (United States of Tara), Cedar Cove‘s Andrew Airlie, Continuum‘s Janet Kidder, and Matt Frewer (Falling Skies).

Here’s what to expect: Delete imagines a disaster in our all-too-fragile digital world where all computers could become dangerously self-aware with one systematic purpose – to destroy mankind. Faced with possible extinction, there is only one way out – create a second artificial intelligence, just as alive, just as intelligent and just as dangerous. Emmy nominee Steve Barron (Merlin, Treasure Island) directs from an original screenplay by Joseph Mallozzi (Stargate Universe) and Paul Mullie (Stargate SG-1).
