Kirstie Alley reminds folks why she has a whopping eight Emmy nominations (and two trophies) with a return to acting in tonight’s new Lifetime movie, “Baby Sellers,” a ripped-from-the-headlines take on international infant trafficking, which premieres at 8/7c and then repeats again at 12a/11c.

Alley plays Carla Huxley, the owner of a U.S.-based adoption agency who’s sourcing her business with stolen children. Jennifer Finnigan (who has three Emmys of her own) plays Nicole Morrison, an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent who goes undercover to bring her down.

Taking a page from the Covert Affairs “stop, drop, and shoot” playbook, the international production filmed in India, Brazil and Vancouver. It was directed by Nick Willing (Neverland, Alice in Wonderland) and written by Humanitas Prize winner Suzette Couture (The Last Templar, Jesus) and William Gray.
