Comic Con 2013 might be over, but we’ve still got some serious scoop to share. I’ve enjoyed Allison’s evolution throughout the series and I especially like what’s going on with her this season, even if she’s not currently with Scott. Below Allison Argent’s Crystal Reed explains why there isn’t currently any hope for an Allison/Scott reunion, what’s up with Isaac, and what to look forward to in the second half of the season.
What’s coming up for Allison? What are you excited to tell us about?
Crystal Reed: “I’m excited because Allison’s gonna start an interesting relationship with Isaac, which has already [begun]. We’ve seen the beginnings of it. I think they’re not gonna deny things or shrink away. [There’s this] really great comedic element that Allison really hasn’t gotten to know yet because she’s quite serious so as an actor, selfishly, I really excited about that.
What about her relationship with her father?
Crystal: “At the end of these first twelve episodes they come to an agreement and Allison takes the reigns. It’s interesting. She’s still 17. I think her dad really, really wants her to succeed and be a strong female and he likes that.”
This has become a more physical role. Do you want to see more of that for Allison?
Crystal: “Yeah. I mean, I do a lot of my own stunts, which I love as long as there’s not insurance involved. I always ask to do my own stunts and I think that for me, ’cause I used to be in theatre so being physical is part of my acting, and I’m always up for it.”
Will you be using any new weapons coming up in the second half of the season?
Crystal: “Yeah, I just read the second episode and she has new guns. And she’s shooting at something really interesting, which I won’t tell you. Now I have the power.”
One of my favorite scenes from the season so far was seeing you thread the needle in “Frayed” when your mom was there. Are we going to see her again?
Crystal: “Yes. You’ll see her again.”
Can you tell us more?
Crystal: “As far as I know, Jeff [Davis] had said we see her through Allison’s imagination. I’m just really glad I have both of my parents. It’s interesting how people deal with the death of a parent, how you manifest that because you need it. And so she does come back at certain times when Allison needs her the most.”
That closet scene from “Currents.”
Crystal: “It was so much fun. I don’t get to work with Tyler [Posey] that much anymore on a one-on-one basis. We have this natural sort of understanding and I love working with him. We tried it a thousand different ways, that scene. We did it really funny and over the top and then much more subdued. I like what they chose, it’s adorable.”
Will we see more Allison and Scott in the future? You mentioned other love interests.
Crystal: “Yeah, actually for both of them. One of the things I love about the show is that Jeff always tries to teach us something. I know it’s cheesy but he’s really particular about wanting these two characters to find themselves before they come back together and I think that’s true with real life. Sometimes, especially when you’re 17, you have to do that and as much as people want Scott and Allison together and I want them together because I think they’re adorable, I think they should find themselves in other avenues before they can reconnect.”
Teen Wolf airs Mondays at 10/9c on MTV.
