[Warning: General discussion of tonight’s episode with mild plot points discussed.]

The big news coming from the Continuum universe is the fact that Syfy announced it will air season three for U.S. audiences to enjoy. So everyone can breathe a major sigh of relief on that front. According to a Syfy press release:

Currently airing season two, which concludes on Friday, August 30, Continuum ranks as the #1 original cable drama in its time slot among Adults 18-49, Adults 25-54 and total viewers.  Based on Live +7 data,  the series is currently averaging 728K Adults 18-49, 836K Adults 25-54 and 1.8 million total viewers, up 21 percent, 18 percent, and 21 percent, respectively, from season one.

Tonight on Syfy, season two continues. So much drama has been going down — the best being that Betty is the mole and Carlos now knows all about Kiera. Loved Kiera briefly being reunited with her ex-partner (from the future). And not shockingly, Agent Gardiner was killed. We’re interested in Alec’s journey as well — things are starting to evolve for him. For instance, he has a girlfriend — a really kick ass one — who, unfortunately, is hiding secrets from him. But these two are beyond adorable so we sincerely hope nothing (too) tragic happens. And what’s the deal with that mystery man that took care of Gardiner? And when are we going to learn even more about the other mystery man making Kiera’s life a bit chaotic — Mr. Escher? Inquiring minds want to know.

Our synopsis for tonight’s episode — “Seconds“: Things get real for Kiera (again) when Julian’s release from prison sparks an existential crisis about whether she should pre-emptively eliminate him as a future threat. This, of course, doesn’t sit well with Alec or Carlos. We also get a glimpse of the new world order at VPD and Kiera has to decide which team she’s playing on, and who she’s fighting for. Add to that the war between Sonya and Travis to make a claim on Julian’s loyalties. It’s an emotional roller coaster and Rachel Nichols, Victor Webster, and Erik Knudsen continue to bring their A game. Special props to Richard Harmon for making Julian a whole character this season (he won a Leo for this role back in June).

Continuum airs Fridays on Syfy at 10/9c.
