[WARNING: Spoilers for Supernatural Season Nine]
What is a Comic-Con without Supernatural? We don’t want to find out. For the third year in a row, the show filled up Hall H for a fun panel with the cast (Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki, Misha Collins, Mark Sheppard) as well as executive producers Jeremy Carver and Robert Singer.
TV Goodness had the chance to hit the press room where we learned about all things season nine. Some of the most interesting tidbits:
- Robert Singer called season nine “the most character-driven season.” So even with the brothers “choosing each other” as Jensen Ackles told us, the EP says there’s still going to be plenty of conflict with Sam and Dean and with Cas.
- According to Jeremy Carver, there is a lot they can’t divulge right now. That if we think there’s something missing amongst all the information that’s been spilled as of late, there is. We’re wondering if it has to do with Dean’s “big secret” or if it’s something else.
- Misha Collins talking about how, at first, Cas will be trying to avoid/run from the fallen angels, was mighty interesting as well.
- Loved that Singer mentioned how there’s going to be a Dean talking to animals episode called “Dr. Deanlittle.” Hilarious.
- Jared Padalecki teased that he gets to do something that he thought Carver and Singer would have revealed at the panel, but they didn’t, which means he can’t tell us about it. But he did say that it has to do with the way Sam heals. And he’s thrilled about that whole story.
- Jensen conveyed the fact he was happy that Dean won’t be playing the “guilty cheerleader” anymore. Find out why in the press room interviews below.
Supernatural returns to Tuesday nights starting October 15 @ 9/8c on the CW. Until then, enjoy these video interviews with the stars and the executive producers. That should help make this current hellatus a little less painful, right?
