What became our TV obsession last summer is finally back. Yes, the CW’s Breaking Pointe returns tonight. The reality series goes behind the curtain to show us what life is like at the Salt Lake City Ballet Company. As expected, it’s dramatic, beautiful, tumultuous and unpredictable.
While the show does reveal what the dancers are like off the stage it’s wonderful when we get to see how everything manages to come together on the stage. They can exhibit some insecurities in real life but when they’re performing for an audience, confidence reigns. Expect to become engrossed by what these dancers have to go through. The pressure and the stakes are high. There is drama between some of the members of the company — and we do get a glimpse at their love lives — but what’s great about this show is that this aspect of the series never overwhelms. It is clear that Breaking Pointe is all about the dance. Ballet rules so if you’re into that you definitely need to tune in — we highly recommend it.
Season two of the CW’s Breaking Pointe debuts tonight at 9/8c.
