One of the things that’ll break your heart about watching genre shows, if you follow the larger TV industry as a whole, is that they are regularly overlooked for mainstream recognition. I was always so glad that The X-Files was acknowledged for its work, but shows like Buffy, and pretty much everything on Syfy, never were/are (we’re about to find out if Orphan Black is on their radar, and if so, then there’s still hope).
That brings us to “Second Opinion,” which would be Rachel Nichols’s Emmy reel, if there were such a thing and the Emmy voters knew about Continuum. We’re five episodes into season two, and tonight, in “Second Opinion,” VPD goes through a shakeup, and Kiera is missing her son so terribly that she snaps and her CMR steps in to evaluate her.
