We’re baaaaack! The Killing, one of our summer favorites, is back from its near-death for a third season starting Sunday night. When we wrapped season two, a third season was uncertain, and unlikely. But AMC prevailed and here we are. And where are Linden and Holder? Well, they’re in much different places a year and change on from the resolution of the Rosie Larsen murder.
Instead of focusing on a single death, the third season veers into the current TV hot button of serial killers (not thrilled with that, but whatever it took to get a third season, I can get on board with). Holder is now a full-fledged detective and Linden is working outside the PD but they’re back together soon enough.
Look for Peter Sarsgaard in a major role (and his first in a TV series) as Tom Seward, a death-row inmate with tales to tell that intrigue the Seattle PD. Also on board are Elias Koteas (pick something), Aaron Douglas (BSG), Ryan Robbins (Sanctuary), and Hugh Dillon (Flashpoint).
So, so, so glad this show is back. Here are a couple of sneak peeks at season three, which launches Sunday at 8/7c on AMC with two episodes, “The Jungle” and “That You Fear the Most,” airing back to back.
