Julie Plec and Greg Berlanti‘s next step in their CW takeover came to fruition with the series greenlight for The Tomorrow People, an X-Men-ish variation on the BBC series of the same name, about special people with special skills, particulary the tele trifecta of telekinesis, teleportation and telepathic communication.The ridiculously talented Amell family gives us another one of its sons as Stephen Amell’s cousin, Robbie Amell, headlines.The CW keeps it in the family by sending Supernatural alum Mark Pellegrino up to his own show. Also in the cast is Aaron Yoo, from my guilty pleasure Disturbia, Luke Mitchell (H20: Just Add Water), and Peyton List (Mad Men). And I’m pretty sure we spied Mayor Lockwood’s real-life husband, Linden Ashby, in the preview (if not, comment me!)
We’re excited to see it because the Plec/Berlanti bar is high, and if you’re a WB nerd like us, it’s fun to see them come together again professionally so many years after they first worked together on Dawson’s Creek.
The Tomorrow People will follow Arrow on Wednesdays this fall.
