So what did you think? This was the first semi-finals that I can remember that there were 5 couples instead for four. There were a few perfect scores! That means incredible dancing. Let’s review:
Aly & Mark:
1st Dance- Rhumba- Scores: 10, 10, 10
2nd Dance- Afro Jazz- Scores- 10, 9, 10
I think this was definitely Aly and Mark’s best dance (Rhumba). She’s come along way. I have mixed feelings about the second dance, but also think at this point in DWTS, they have to try new things. It was a great night because they were in 1st place. (Tied with Jacoby & Karina!)
Total Score: 59
Kellie & Derek:
1st Dance- Argentine Tango- 10, 10, 10
2nd Dance- Flamenco- 9, 10, 9
Total Score: 58
From the beginning I have been surprised how great Kellie is. I don’t know why but I am amazed and have become a fan. I loved that they were dancing in silhouette on the first dance. That’s pretty risky because you can see all the technique in the lines, but they nailed it! I liked the Flamenco, I don’t know what Carrie Ann and Bruno were talking about!
Jacoby & Karina:
1st Dance- Argentine Tango- 10, 10, 10
2nd Dance- Lindy Hop- 10, 9, 10
Total Score: 59
Not only do I think they are great, Karina came back from being injured and was amazing. When this season is over, I am going to miss Jacoby’s mom, yelling at Len. I also learned more things about where Jacoby came from and how he got to where he is today and it’s incredible.
Zendaya & Val:
1st Dance- Quickstep- 8, 8, 9
2nd Dance- Hip Hop- 10, 10, 10
Total: 55
The first dance was incredibly risky but I thought it was entertaining and also felt that her scores were two low. But on the results show I saw what the judges were talking about when they said she was out of sync. The second dance was perfection! I also liked how Val had to really work at it and had a unique opportunity to see how the celebrities feel.
Ingo & Kim:
1st Dance- Samba- 8, 8, 8
2nd Dance- Charleston- 9, 9, 9
Total: 51

If you read my other blogs, you know I am an Ingo fan. But I agree and thought it was time for him to go. You see even when you are loyal to someone you have to know when to fold them! (If you get that reference, you are old!) I still love Jasper Jacks!
Other things that have to be mentioned:
-Andy Dick sat in the audience and wore a tie, shirt and jacket, but no pants. (You have to love him!)
-Len was in the best mood I have ever seen him in! He was also funny. What was he drinking and can I have some please?
-Tom B. is the best host in live television, but that’s a given.
Next week is the finals. Any of the finalists can win the Mirrorball trophy! I can’t wait to see the battle begin!
P.S. Sad note: ABC announced that there will no longer be a results show starting next season. The results will be incorporated into the performance show. (Boo!)
This season, Dancing with the Stars airs Mondays at 8/7c and Tuesday at 9/8c on ABC.
