Dancing with the Stars: Season 16, Week 4 [VIDEO]

This week the dances were dedicated to the best year of the celebrity’s life.  Instead of talking about everyone I wanted to discuss the highlights of this fourth week of competition:

  • Andy Dick danced for his daughter who was in the audience.  She danced for him when she was a little girl.  It moved Carrie Ann to major tears.  (Carrie Ann just lost her own father, so it meant something to her)  I know I’m totally Team Andy,  but I think he should have gotten all eights. (I know he got his highest score, but still…)  The dance was really beautiful. He even walked over to his daughter when he was finished and gave her a hug.
  • All the celebrities had to dance for 15 seconds by themselves. (I think they handled this well.)
  • Kellie Pickler’s husband sang a song during the dance her and Derek did.  It was a song he wrote her for their wedding.  They also showed video from the wedding day behind them while they dance.  (Who doesn’t want their man to write a song for them?)
  • I think the biggest and scariest thing that happened was that Lisa Vanderpump fainted during rehearsal.  It reminded me of Marie Osmond, and was really scary.  Under her doctor’s orders she had to rest.  In fact she had to miss dress rehearsal. She didn’t even know if she would be able to dance but was a trooper and danced her Cha Cha.

SPOILER ALERT

Before I get to the elimination part of the results show, I want to discuss something that was really so amazing. 17-year-old Brilynn Rakes has a condition that makes her legally blind.  Because of this, she can only see about 5 feet in front of her.  Brilynn can’t do a lot of things but she can dance.  She loves it and dances every day.  Derek Hough is her favorite dancer and surprised her that she was going to dance with him on the show.  She is incredible and if you didn’t get to see it, see the video below.  It was really inspiring.

Well someone did have to go. Lisa and Gleb were sent home.  I think it’s probably a good thing because she wasn’t going to quit and, clearly, she had been very sick.  She did great and should be proud.  Now Lisa can go home and rest.  (By the way if you are in Beverly Hills, I highly recommend her restaurant, Villa Blanca.  One of the best meals I have ever had!)

So who is next to go?  See you next week.

Dancing with the Stars airs Mondays at 8/7c and Tuesday at 9/8c on ABC.
