5 Moments of Goodness from Chicago Fire “Ambition” 

Wow, how many people are still reeling from last night’s Chicago Fire?  I know I am, and it’s been almost 12 hours!  Just like every episode of Chicago Fire, “Ambition” was full of fantastic, memorable scenes.  After racking our brains and having to get a “favorite” list down to 5, here’s the top 5 moments we finally were able to come up with:

5. Otis Trying To Smooch Up to Tara

This scene was hilarious.  I don’t think we’ve ever seen Otis (Yuri Sardarov) have a crush before, and so, it was fun watching him stumble around with Tara.  Honestly, Otis was way out of Tara’s league, but that turned out to be a good thing for him.  We find out at the end of the episode that Tara was a wolf in sheep’s clothing, and we certainly would not want our sweet Otis to get close to that bitch!

4. Shay Helping Cindy Herrmann And Her Baby

Shay (Lauren German) isn’t even pregnant yet, but already, her maternal instincts are kicking in.  With Herrmann on a retreat with his buddies in Canada, Shay recognizes something is off with Cindy, and rushes her to the hospital.  They find a blood clot that had traveled from her brain to her lungs, and they were able to remove it.  Cindy is on her way to a full recovery, thanks to Shay’s keen observation.

3. Mills Helping To Save Capps’ Life

Over the past couple of episodes, Mills (Charlie Barnett) has had a chip on his shoulder, and understandably given the fact that he’s in a tough position.  He’s at the very bottom of the totem pole with a long way’s to go to get certification for Squad.  Plus, while he and Dawson (Monica Raymund) are an item now, you can’t help but empathize with the guy and worry if Dawson will be in Lt. Casey’s (Jesse Spencer) arms tomorrow.  After all, Casey is a hot guy and has made his feelings for Dawson clearly known.

But, Mills gets a break tonight.  At a fire in a marijuana house, Capp steps on some electrical wiring, is electrocuted, and becomes trapped.  Giving his 100%, Mills, along with Casey,  is able to get to Capp very quickly and rescue him from the house, safe and sound.  From that point on, a whole new air of respect from his fellow firefighters surrounds him, including from Otis and Casey.  Nice going, Mills! You still have a lot to learn, but we’re all rooting for you!

2. Shay And Severide’s Make-Up Scene

Believe it or not, when I think about some of the best “couples” on television, Shay and Severide (Taylor Kinney) comes to mind.  Yes, I know, their relationship is completely platonic for obvious reasons, but those 2 care immensely for each other and always put the other above all else.  I can think of few real couples that actually does that.

Tonight was no exception.  After a little bit of a falling out after Severide looses his phone and misses a doctor’s appointment with Shay, she is pissed for a while, but quickly forgives him.  Before you know it, Shay and Severide are hugging, and everything is back to normal.  Shay gives Severide an “out” for helping her get pregnant, but Severide cares too much for Shay to take it.  Severide stays there, right next to Shay’s side, and I fully expect he’ll be there until the very end.  That’s just what 2 people who love each other do.

1. Blowout With Severide and Internal Affairs

Damn, I did not see this ending coming at all!  Tara Little is the new blonde bombshell Candidate, and while Otis may have his crush, we all knew that Tara would probably set her sights on either Casey or Severide.  In this particular case, Severide is the unfortunate soul who picked the short straw.

As we saw at the accident scene at the industrial warehouse and the scene with the garage, Tara is not cut out to be an EMT in Chicago, and Dawson, when asked, tells the truth.  This pretty much causes Tara to get the boot, and she does not take it well, which is an understatement.  We should recall that Tara had already pursued one career in Graphic Design, and a failure in another field may have been too much to bear.

In retaliation, she falsely accuses Severide of sexual assault, saying he got her drunk and then, forced himself on her at his place.  Part of her motivation may also be because of Shay barging in and thinking that Shay and Severide are a couple (does Tara even know that Shay is a lesbian?).

Regardless of the “whys”, Severide is in some deep crap. Oh, Severide, maybe you should lay off the ladies for a while, most of ones you pick are bat-crap crazy anyways!
