Thanks to WonderCon 2013, I have a new TV obsession and it goes by the name of Vikings. It’s already a huge hit for the History Channel having aired in the post-The Bible time slot. But you know what? The show stands on its own. It has a great story; wonderful characters to root for and to root against; the cast is stellar; and there’s tons of action. So consider me on board, especially after having attended the Vikings panel at this weekend’s WonderCon. I also got a chance to interview some of the actors. So keep a lookout for that in the near future. But tonight is a new episode and we have a photo preview:

Synopsis for “Raid”: In the Great Hall of Kattegat, a seer reads Earl Haraldson’s future and tells him that Ragnar Lothbrok searches for his death. The unanswerable question is whom do the gods favor more? As a man willing to defend his power and status to the death, Haraldson intends to take precautionary measures. Ragnar, his home and farm burned by the Earl is hurt but hidden safely away. He must now choose the path that will lead him back to his freedom.

A couple more things about “Raid”:

  • The sneak peek they gave us at WonderCon was massively epic. It involves Ragnar and his family in a harrowing situation. …especially for him.
  • Also, the episode ends on a cliff-hanger. So be prepared to wait one painful week for whatever said cliff-hanger is to be resolved.

Vikings “Raid” airs tonight at 10/9c on History Channel.
