Well, Sundance Channel ruined us because the first week out they gave us two episodes of the very well done Jane Campion mini-series, Top of the Lake, back to back, but tonight, we just get one. To recap the first two episodes–a young pregnant 12 year old, Tui, who happens to be the daughter of a drug lord has disappeared in the middle of some fairly treacherous terrain. 
Local law enforcement, led by visiting detective Robin Griffin (Elisabeth Moss), who has ties to the region from her own childhood spent there, are on the case, but they’re in a war of wills with the girl’s father about the best course of action. And Robin has turned up her own suspect who may or may not have anything to do with it. There’s also a backstory to be revealed about her relationship woth Tui’s half-brother, Johnno, who’s recently returned from a Malaysian prison stint.
