[Warning: Spoilers for tonight’s episode]

Nashville‘s all new with yet another great episode. Creatively, this show is on a high. We’re hoping the ratings will start reflecting that sooner rather than later because another season is imperative.

Synopsis for “There’ll Be No Teardrops Tonight”: Rayna finds comfort in the arms of an old friend as she deals with having to reveal to Daphne and Maddie her plans to divorce. Juliette is invigorated by the response to her new sound and takes steps to reinvent herself — against the guidance of her management. Things are looking up for Scarlett and Gunnar when Rayna makes an offer to sign them to her label. While their hard work begins to show signs of success, Avery struggles to find his old sound and is forced to consider an attractive offer.

Here’s a little more of what to expect:

  • One of our favorite characters is back: Liam. We didn’t like the way his character left the canvas the first time around. So his presence is very welcome (at least by us). Michael Huisman is adorably sexy as the music genius turned Rayna’s ex-producer. Hopefully, he’ll never go away again. We’d love for him to continue to exist in this Nashville universe.
  • Gunnar’s past comes roaring back yet again. This time it also affects Scarlett since the two are living together.
  • Shallow TV Alert: If you’re crushin’ on Gunnar like the rest of us, you’re going to love one of his early scenes in the episode. Trust us.
  •  Juliette’s road to musical maturation is bumpy. Highly turbulent, even. Look for an awesome Deacon-Juliette elevator scene. Just don’t expect it to be like the special elevator scene Deacon shared with Rayna last week.
  • Love the Scarlett/Gunnar song in this episode.

Nashville airs tonight at 10/9c on ABC.
