5 Moments of Goodness from The Big Bang Theory “The Cooper/Kripke Inversion”

Last night’s Big Bang Theory boldly went where it has never gone before – into the frightening abyss of Sheldon Cooper’s love life.  All I could say at the end was OMG, did that really happen?  Here are the top five moments of goodness.

Personalized action figures.  Raj finds a website that makes personalized action figures.  Raj and Howard shell out $1,000 for two figures of themselves.  When the package arrives, Raj’s doll is black and Howard’s doll has a nose longer than Pinocchio’s.  Leonard suggests there was a shipping error, “Maybe Wesley Snipes and Toucan Sam just got action figures that look like you guys.”  I have to admit, personalized action figures are pretty awesome.  I wonder if there is a chance we will see these at Comic Con for our nerd crew.

An unholy alliance.  Kripke and Sheldon have to work together, which cannot possibly go smoothly.  Sheldon doesn’t play well with others, especially not Kripke.  It was priceless when Sheldon displayed his unhappiness by blasting the Imperial March from Star Wars and hiding under a blanket.

Sheldon gets served.  It’s a harsh moment when Sheldon realizes that Kripke’s research is “leaps and bounds” beyond his own.  Sheldon is even upset enough to accept a consoling hug from Amy.  Part of Sheldon’s charm is his unfailing confidence and arrogance.  Seeing him get taken down a notch though was oddly satisfying.

Everyone needs a 3D printer.  Raj and Howard buy a $5,000 3D printer that takes images and molds them into plastic figures.  Just imagine what you could do with one of those.  Do such wonderful machines really exist?  That’s the stuff geek nirvana is made of.  The best part, though, is when Howard explains to Bernadette why it was ok for him to spend their money on the printer without talking to her first: “When you make a bunch of money, I get to buy stuff.  Sorry if you don’t like it, but that’s how love works.”  Yeah, that didn’t go so well for Howard.

The Amy Factor.  Kripke accuses Sheldon of producing substandard work because Sheldon is too busy with his girlfriend.  Sheldon jumps on this excuse and says, “What can I say, she enjoys my genitals.”  Kripke’s persistent quest for details was hilarious and showed what a sexually deprived nerd he really is.  But, the OMG moment came when Penny presses Sheldon about whether he is ever going to sleep with Amy.  Sheldon admits that it’s possible.  I felt the same as Penny did when she practically fell out of her chair.  Did Sheldon actually just say that??  Our a-sexual Sheldon might actually get physical with Amy Farrah Fowler?  Is this bizzaro world?  I can’t wait until Amy finds out!!  How long do we think it will take Penny to tell her?

The Big Bang Theory airs Thursdays at 8/7c on CBS.
