We learned some important backstory tonight:
- “The announcement” has started making people come out of the woodwork to sniff around after Art’s job at the Marshal’s office.
- Tim was a decorated sniper in Iraq (Army Ranger). He’s got an itchy trigger finger and Art thinks he not only has PTSD but is also an alcoholic. He’s gonna blow at some point.
- Rachel is always trying to prove herself although she’s brought 2 of the 15 most wanted in herself. She just left her husband so her emotional health might break down in the next year. Art thought she might take over his job one day.
- Raylan’s lady friend has a husband. Who is really kind of scary.
The Panamanian Diplomatic Pouch
This just keeps getting more and more interesting. Last week Arlo killed Dixie Mafia thug Sam Porter for knowing about it. This week Art, Tim and Raylan stake out Waldo Truth and his family. They’re a colorful bunch and, of course, they’re armed and willing to go to quite some length to protect their draw. But they give the marshals a very helpful piece of information. They discover Waldo Truth died thirty years ago (the human pancake in that driveway from the last episode) and that pilot Drew Thompson is still out there somewhere.
Preacher Billy And His Sister
I thought I recognized Lindsay Pulsipher‘s Cassie St. Cyr. She’s Crystal from True Blood. And I can tell you now I already like her here a lot more. She’s creepy and interesting. I think Boyd really rubbed her the wrong way, although I did enjoy that bible “verse off” between Billy and Boyd.
Wynn Duffy Returns
I love Jere Burns on this show, and he did surprise me by taking out his own errant dealer. Boyd is trying to expand his criminal enterprise by partnering with Wynn in the heroin trade. But Wynn doesn’t want to partner with him. Is it because Wynn doesn’t believe a word out of Boyd’s mouth? Maybe. Maybe not. I’m sure we’re gonna kind out.
Some great lines:
“I’m the guy telling you it’s time to go.” “Do you think you can make me?” “Really?” “I’m probably gonna walk out that door but if I don’t do you think you can make me?” “I don’t know and I’d rather not find out.”
“I need to save my soul, Ava, before it’s too late.” “I saved your soul. ‘Member? Not God or Jesus Christ. Me and my shotgun.”
“Raylan on a scale of 1 to a sh*tload, how much do you need to tell me right now?”
“And also that mystery bag thing’s given me a little bit of a Marshal stiffy.” “That’s a nice image.”
“Do you happen to recall a phone conversation we had a few months back?” “Well, I believe we had a couple of phone conversations a few months back.” “The one where I expressed my opinion that we were square?” “Well now Shelby, I thought we were a circle.”
“What are you doing? Tapping out? There ain’t no referee.”
“You’re keeping addict hours.”
“Young fellow you do understand that we are federal officers, right?” “So he did do something bad.” “I think he’s referring to the pot.” “Oh I got the glaucoma. Real bad.” “It is difficult to see your children suffer.”
“I wouldn’t kick you outta bed for eating crackers.” “Why else would I be there?”
Justified airs Tuesdays at 10/9c on FX.

What They Said: Top 4 Quotable Moments from Black Sails “XXIII”
The dialogue in “XXIII” is phenomenal. It’s always a fun ride when Black Sails carries its viewers along without giving them the chance to catch their breath. When an episode moves at this unforgiving pace, there is no chance for a breather nor is there a respite from the information…

Two nights of Arrow + The Flash = what more could we ask for?! I don’t know what it is about blending these shows, but I can’t help but feel that every time they come together, they somehow become greater than the sum of their parts. And that’s saying a lot…

3 Moments of Goodness from Brooklyn Nine-Nine “Johnny and Dora”
The most satisfying part of this season’s finale has to the Jake and Amy kiss. Well, they kiss three times but the last one is the best one — and it means something. The Charles and Rosa dynamic was also great. I love how she’s convinced he doesn’t know anything…
