Holiday Movie Preview (Haven Edition): A Very Merry Daughter of the Bride

I’m an open book when it comes to my shameless love of Lifetime movies. Now I’m going to share some of that love with my Haven peeps. Way back in 2008 before Nathan Wuornos was in the world, the lovely and talented Lucas Bryant (line forms behind me, y’all), did a very sweet Christmas movie called A Very Merry Daughter of the Bride.

The title character, Roxanne, played by the equally lovely and talented Joanna Garcia Swisher, is a wedding planner who, caught up in the hurt over her mom (Helen Shaver) returning from a long-overdue vacation with a surprise paramour (Kenneth Welsh) in tow who responds by torpedoing the romance. She also ends up reconnecting with her own true love (Bryant) who got away.

The rest of the cast includes 90210 alumni Jason Priestley and Luke Perry along for the ride. It’s a lovely Christmas confection that’s silly and poignant, and very, very sweet. It will not help you with your Lucas Bryant problem.

A Very Merry Daughter of the Bride repeats on Lifetime now and again and is on demand here and here and on DVD here. You’re welcome.
