File this one under, “Really? Well alrighty then!” I loved The Killing. Both seasons. I thought it was home to some extraordinary work for series stars Mireille Enos, Joel Kinnaman, Billy Campbell, Kristin Lehman, Brent Sexton, Jamie Anne Allman, Michelle Forbes, and on and on. News came down this summer that the show wouldn’t come back. Then it looked like Netflix might throw it a slot.
Now, it looks like AMC is back on board, with series creator Veena Sud and executive producers Dawn Prestwich and Nicole Yorkin now at work on breaking stories and Enos and Kinnaman under contract (according to Deadline) to return for a third season. LOVE it. There will, of course, be a new mystery to follow, but as long as we get Linden and Holder, I’m down with wherever we go.
