As April comes to an end, edging closer to May sweeps, surprisingly there weren’t quite as many guest stars of note on my favorite shows. That doesn’t mean there weren’t any. Thankfully, a few familiar faces popped up on primetime TV.

Let’s start with Thursday night’s drama offerings, beginning with actor Richard Harmon on the new episode of The Secret Circle. He appeared as one of the witch hunters who meet up with some of the secret in their quest for one of the crystals.

Richard is probably best known for his role in The Killing, but he also had roles in the short-lived series Caprica, Tower Prep and the online series Riese. He also had small parts in the made-for-TV movies Painkiller Jane and The Pregnancy Project.

Meanwhile, over on the new episode of Person of Interest, actor Pablo Schreiber appeared as an employee of an armored truck company, who turned out to be not only a cheater but also a thief. Pablo, most recently, appeared in the CBS medical drama A Gifted Man, but he has also appeared in Weeds, Lights Out, The Wire, Dirt and Army Wives. He also appeared in the films Lords of Dogtown, The Manchurian Candidate and Vicky Cristina Barcelona.

Then over on Scandal, there was the trifecta of actors José Zúñiga and Leland Orser as well as actress Valerie Cruz all appearing in the episode. Leland appeared as an investigator hired to look into Olivia and her team while Jose appeared as a ruthless dictator of a foreign country while Valerie was his wife, who made it appear as if she and two of her three children were kidnapped when she was actually trying to escape/leave him.

José is probably best known for his role in the first Twilight film, but he has also appeared in episodes of Desperate Housewives, Suits, The Event, Ghost Whisperer, CSI, Law & Order and New York Undercover.

Leland, on the other hand, has appeared in countless movies including Independence Day, Alien: Resurrection, The Bone Collector, Taken, Saving Private Ryan, Daredevil and Se7en. Among his TV roles include episodes of The Pretender, 24, ER, NYPD Blue, Married with Children, Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman and many more.

Valerie got her start on Nip/Tuck and then on the short-lived shows Hidden Palms and The Dresden Files; she later appeared in episodes of Dexter and True Blood as well as the short-lived Off the Map.
Then over on Friday night, actress Felicia Day appeared on the new episode of Supernatural called “The Girl with the Dungeons and Dragons Tattoo.” Meanwhile, actors Carlo Rota and David S. Lee both appeared on the latest episode of Nikita.

As all sci-fi fans know, Felicia got her start on Buffy the Vampire Slayer and is the creator and writer of the popular online series The Guild. She also appeared in the online sensation from Joss Whedon – Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog. Additionally, she was the star of the online series Dragon Age: Redemption and most recently had a recurring role on Syfy’s Eureka.

Carlo is a familiar face as being a character actor appearing in countless TV shows such as Sanctuary, Stargate Universe, 24, Queer as Folk, La Femme Nikita, Relic Hunter and the Canadian series Little Mosque on the Prairie (among countless others).

The name David S. Lee may not ring any bells with American audiences, but he is a household name in South Africa. Although, many TV viewers may recognize him for his role in the short-lived series The Nine Lives of Chloe King as well as his role as the young Charles Widmore on Lost. He has also appeared in episodes of Alias, Angel, Charmed and Leverage. Additionally, he had roles in the box office films Blood Diamond and Get Smart.
There you have it, the latest list of familiar faces on my favorite TV shows over the past week. Which actors or actresses did you enjoy seeing last week? Please share.

What They Said: Top 4 Quotable Moments from Black Sails “XXIII”
The dialogue in “XXIII” is phenomenal. It’s always a fun ride when Black Sails carries its viewers along without giving them the chance to catch their breath. When an episode moves at this unforgiving pace, there is no chance for a breather nor is there a respite from the information…

3 Moments of Goodness from Brooklyn Nine-Nine “Johnny and Dora”
