Role Reversals on Person of Interest “Super”

With Reese recuperating and Carter investigating what he and Finch do, “Super” is a study in opposites. Reese has to sit this one out as Finch is put to the test in the field (where we know he doesn’t like to be). While Reese has a very “Rear Window” kind of experience in this episode, it isn’t long before he returns to being the man of action we know him for. With the CIA breathing down Carter’s neck, she goes from hunting Reese to being hunted herself. Snow thinks Carter knows more than she’s saying and is convinced they can discover what – if anything – she’s hiding. But Carter’s better than that and she’s able to give them the slip so she can continue her investigation into Reese and Finch.

I don’t know about you but I’m so happy Finch and Reese are trusting Carter enough to show her what they do. When she and Finch meet at the bar and Finch points out a “person of interest,” Carter’s on him to see what he’ll do. She’s got some great skills at a detective and those help her prevent a murder. So now she knows the day in the life of Finch and Reese. Will she want to become a part of their boys club?

Even though Reese should be down for the count, he’s able to gather valuable intel. He’s spying on people in the building and generally being bored out of his mind by having to do Finch’s job. But when Finch can’t get back to the apartment fast enough, Reese’s quick thinking helps save Lily’s life. He’s hobbling around on crutches and doesn’t have his full range of motion and he still manages to stop a stalker – and permanently. I’d want him looking after me any day of the week.

Bonus:

It’s always nice to see Brett Cullen and we got some great backstory on his partnership with Finch back in the day. We discover how the computer works and who wants unfettered access to it. Are we one step closer to discovering how and why Ingram died? I doubt it, but I like seeing Finch revealed through his time with Ingram.
