I know I’m incredibly late to the Matthew Gray Gubler game but at least I’ve finally arrived. That has to count for something, right? I’ve been a periodic watcher of Criminal Minds over the years, although this season, I’ve watched more than ever before. Gubler has always been utterly adorkable. He’s just so damn cute as Dr. Spencer Reid. You can’t help but love him.Over the holidays, I was in the airport buying magazines. Catching my eye pretty quickly was the CBS Watch Magazine with NCIS hottie Michael Weatherly on the cover. I started reading it while I waited for my plane to arrive. First stop: Michael’s awesome article/photo shoot. After that I quickly found myself on the interview featuring the Criminal Minds profiler and what I saw opened my eyes. You see, I really didn’t know anything about him. Found out he was a model before being an actor but what really got to me were the photos. It was like my own personal Oprah Aha! Moment. Gubler looked spectacularly beautiful in those pics. I could definitely see the model in him.
The next few minutes were spent in Shallow Town staring at the photographs because they were that hot. And the article was perfect for letting me get to know a little somethin’ somethin’ about the actor. It talked of his modeling days and how he broke into acting. It became clear that Matthew Gray Gubler is the entire package. He’s a smart, ridiculously good looking guy with a quirky personality. Hence, my sudden TV crush. Criminal Minds isn’t on tonight — the People’s Choice Awards air instead — but look for all new episodes to return next Wednesday at 9/8c on CBS.
