Just look at him. If you forget all the horrible things he’s done, he’s just so darn adorable. I’ve read recently that Joseph Morgan has been talking to The Vampire Diaries writers/producers about getting a girlfriend for Klaus. I mean, of course he’s incredibly busy trying to build his hybrid army and punish everyone who’s ever crossed him, but he must be longing for a connection of the romantic persuasion. Whether it’s a quick roll in the hay or something more profound and prolonged, it would be nice to see Klaus with someone. Maybe it will distract him from the harm and destruction he’s so intent on causing.
We know Klaus is lonely, which is part of the reason he’s been trying for so long to break his curse. In the thousand years he’s been trying to do that, I wonder if he’s been in love, or in lust. I’m very curious to learn any backstory about his history with women. We know he was involved with Katerina back in the day but was it love? Maybe she’s the reason he’s not that interested in sharing his unbeating heart with anyone. Maybe not. The only other girl he’s shown the least bit of interest in is Elena, but that was first because she would break the curse and now because she’s the key to creating his hybrids.
Should the relationship be serious? Is a fling too much trouble for him? He’s certainly got a lot of balls up in the air, but he’s intelligent and attractive. He could get a girl to fall for him without even compelling her. Joseph Morgan has mentioned the fact that he has chemistry with all the ladies on the show. That’s intriguing, but Klaus has also tried to kill or hurt all of them. So perhaps that’s not the way to go. And I’m not above wanting him to couple up for shallow reasons. We’ve seen every guy – supernatural and human – take their shirt off. Isn’t it time to see a little bit more of Klaus?
