Guest Star Goodness

It Was So Good To See You (Week of 9/18)

With the fall TV season now underway, it was fun seeing some familiar faces in some of my favorite shows.

Courtney Ford

Last week’s episode of Drop Dead Diva included guest star actress Courtney Ford as the co-owner of a medieval theme business with her brother. Courtney has appeared in episodes of The Vampire Diaries, True Blood and Dexter as well as NCIS, Human Target, Cold Case, Monk and Ugly Betty. She is also the wife of former big screen Superman Brandon Routh.

John M. Jackson

On Monday’s season premiere of Castle, actor John M. Jackson appeared briefly as the fire chief who wrote a report on a warehouse fire that figured into the ongoing case of the death of Kate’s (Stana Katic) mom.  John is best known for his role on the long-running series JAG, but he has also appeared in the Bones, CSI, Grey’s Anatomy and Without a Trace. He also starred in the box office films The Spitfire Grill, The Glimmer Man and A Few Good Men.

Philip Casnoff

Over on the NCIS season premiere on Tuesday night, actor Philip Casnoff appeared as the Director of the Office of Naval Investigation who turned out to be a not-so good guy. Philip has most recently appeared in episodes of Dollhouse, Crossing Jordan and Without a Trace; but he is probably best known for his work on the cable series Strong Medicine. He got his first big break on the 1980’s North and South mini-series that starred the late Patrick Swayze and James Read.

Then on Thursday night’s debut of Charlie’s Angels (which I begrudgingly watched not because I wanted to but to see if it was worth watching after the pilot), actor Carlos Bernard appeared as a businessman who turned out to be a human trafficker while actress Ivana Milicevic was his business partner.

Carlos Bernard

Carlos, of course, is best known for his work on 24, but has also appeared Scoundrels, Burn Notice and Walker Texas Ranger as well as the made-for-TV movies 10.5: Apocalypse and Babylon 5: A Call to Arms.

Ivana Milicevic

Whereas, Ivana has appeared in shows such as Hawaii Five-0, Eastwick, Royal Pains, Pushing Daisies, House, Chuck, Ugly Betty, the short-lived series Love Monkey and Buffy. She has also appeared in the made-for-TV movie Fallen and the box office films Love Actually, Casino Royale, Vanilla Sky and Just Like Heaven.

Tom Amandes

Lastly, in this Sunday night’s episode of Against the Wall, actor Tom Amandes guest starred as an alcoholic crime scene photographer. Tom is best known for his role on Everwood (that also starred Against the Wall’s Treat Williams), but he has appeared on Parenthood, Big Love, Eli Stone, Boston Legal and recently guest-starred in the Leverage Season 4 summer finale.  He also had roles in the box office films Brokedown Palace, Billboard Dad and The Long Kiss Goodnight.

As the fall TV season rolls out, it will be fun to see who shows up next.  Did you see any familiar faces on your favorite shows this past week? Please share.
