Chloe King’s love life has been pretty eventful the last couple of weeks. In “Nothing Compares 2 U,” she broke up with Brian, who admitted he’s falling in love with her. It’s clear she’s into him and would love to reciprocate those feelings. But she knows she can’t kiss him or he dies. There’s no way she can give into those urges. It kind of reminds me of a little show called Dark Angel starring Jessica Alba and Michael Weatherly as Max and Logan. Simply touching each other put Logan in danger. That was difficult to watch because you just wanted those two together. I feel bad for Chloe and Brian right now. Their relationship is doomed but they’re really cute together. Maybe it would be easier for Chloe to be with her own kind — a fellow Mai?
Well, at the end of “Dogs of War,” Alek makes a bold move and kisses Chloe, a girl he’s been attracted to from the second he met her. It’s definitely clear he’s been jealous of her relationship with Brian. But now that he’s found out she and Brian are over, he has no problem seizing the day. And you know what? Chloe kisses him right back. Now we have to wonder: Does Chloe really have feelings for Alek? Or is this a relationship of convenience? She’s a teenager. All season long, we’ve been seeing her want to live a normal teenage existence, complete with boyfriend. I must say, there is chemistry between Chloe and Alek as well.
I’m not sure at this point if I’m Team Brian or Team Alek. I might have to give the edge to Team Brian because I really like the way Brian and Chloe are with each other. They sizzle even as Chloe tries to stay away from him. But I gather we’re going to ride the Chloe and Alek wave right now. I’m OK with that too. That’s the best kind of triangle, right? The one where both configurations are viable and wonderful? I’m looking forward to seeing how TPTB at The Nine Lives of Chloe King deal with this budding triangle. I hope that Brian will somehow find out who Chloe is sooner rather than later, but that may be just me. I want all parties on a level playing field and all secrets need to be on the table for this to happen.
