It Was So Good To See You (Week of July 10) 

Over the past week, a lot of great faces showed up on many of my favorite cable shows.  It’s always fun to see who will show on those great shows.

First, while the appearance was brief, actor Leon Rippy showed up at the end of the Sunday night episode of Leverage, as the man behind the “bug” that was found in Nate’s apartment that also seconds as the team’s base of operations.  Leon is probably best known for his role on Saving Grace, but he has a long resume of TV work including Deadwood, Walker Texas Ranger, Quantum Leap, and Six Feet Under.

That same night over on Drop Dead Diva, actress Jennifer Tilly appeared as a temp working at the law firm who pretended to be Fred’s mother while actress Romy Rosemont appeared as the mother of Jane’s new client.  Jennifer’s TV roles include Hill Street Blues, Out of Practice, CSI, Frasier, and voice work on Family Guy.

Meanwhile, Romy Rosemont is best known for her role as Finn’s (Cory Monteith) mom on Glee. She’s also appeared in episodes of In Plain Sight, Big Love, Criminal Minds, Private Practice, Hawthorne, Raising the Bar, Ghost Whisperer, Brothers & Sisters, Prison Break, Boston Legal, and CSI.

Chris Ellis

That same night over on In Plain Sight, actor Chris Ellis appeared as the “bad guy” going after Mary’s and Marshall’s latest witness.  Chris is a well-known character actor who has appeared in TV shows like CSI, Fairly Legal, The Mentalist, Cold Case, Burn Notice, Veronica Mars, NCIS, JAG, and Alias among many others.

Then over on the season premiere of Warehouse 13 on Monday night, Ashley Williams appeared as an FBI agent investigating the same case Peter (Eddie McClintock) and his new partner Jinks (Aaron Ashmore) were looking into.  Ashley got her start on As the World Turns and then she landed on Good Morning Miami.  She’s also appeared in How I Met Your Mother, E-Ring, Huff, Side Order of Life, Saving Grace, and the online series Novel Adventures.  She has also appeared in the made-for-TV movies The Front, At Risk, Snow, its sequel Snow2: Brain Freeze, and Montana Sky.

Rockmond Dunbar

The same night over on The Closer, actor Rockmond Dunbar guest starred as a drug member turned record producer who was suspected of killing one of his up-and-coming rap artists.  Best known for his work on Prison Break, he also starred on the short-lived series Terriers.  Prior to that, he appeared in episodes of CSI: Miami, Grey’s Anatomy, Heartland, Soul Food, Girlfriends, and Earth 2.

Meanwhile, over on Rizzoli & Isles that same evening, actors Chris Vance and Larry Poindexter appeared as an old high school flame of Jane’s (Angie Harmon) and the conceited doctor for whom Maura (Sasha Alexander) was dating and was also Jane’s doctor.

Chris, of course, is best known for his work on Prison Break and his recurring role in Burn Notice, but he has also appeared in the short-lived series Mental as well as episodes of Dexter, and the Australian medical drama All Saints.

Larry Poindexter

Larry is a character actor who has appeared in episodes of Californication, CSI, Supernatural, Without a Trace, Weeds, Crossing Jordan, Bones, NYPD Blue, Judging Amy, JAG, Roswell, and Pacific Blue.  He also had a recurring role in The Hard Times of RJ Berger and Blade: The Series.

Dana Ashbrook

The next night on July 12, actor Dana Ashbrook appeared on White Collar as a diamond thief who was out to catch a young con man for who Peter (Tim DeKay) and his team were also tracking.  As most TV viewers know, Dana appeared in the groundbreaking series Twin Peaks, but he also the TV series Crash, Deadwood, and Dawson’s Creek.

Peter Stormare

Over on Covert Affairs that same night, actor Peter Stormare appeared as the kidnapper of Annie and Reva (Piper Perabo and Jaimie Alexander) while they were on a reconnaissance mission near Belarus.  Peter is probably best known for his work on Prison Break, but he also guest starred in episodes of CSI, Monk, Weeds, and Hawaii Five-O.

Lastly over on Royal Pains, actresses Shiri Appleby and Jennifer Ferrin appeared as new shop owners in The Hamptons both of whom became patients of Hank (Mark Feuerstein).  Shiri is best known for her work on the TV shows Life Unexpected and Roswell as well the short-lived series Six Degrees. She’s also had guest roles in episodes of 7th Heaven, Xena, and a recurring role in ER.  She’s been in the made-for-TV movies Pizza My Heart, To Love and Die, and Darklight.

Meanwhile, Jennifer appeared in the short-lived series Life on Mars (the American version) as well as the daytime soap As the World Turns.  She also appeared in episodes of Rescue Me, Fringe, White Collar, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Boardwalk Empire, as well as the short-lived series The Cape.
