Moving Pictures: A Finale Preview of The Big Bang Theory, Bones, The Office, The Mentalist & Supernatural
Tonight and tomorrow night there are some sure-to-be wild finales headed our way. Here’s a preview along with some of the photos that are intriguing us the most:
Show: The Big Bang Theory
Episode: “The Roommate Transmogrificationf”
Airdate: Thursday May 19 @ 8/7C on CBS
CBS Synopsis: When Bernadette receives her Ph.D., the guys take joy in reminding an emasculated Wolowitz that he is the only one in their group who isn’t a doctor. Â Meanwhile, Koothrappali becomes Sheldon’s new roommate after hearing Leonard and Priya engaging in a “Star Trek” bedroom fantasy, on the fourth season finale of THE BIG BANG THEORY.
Why This Picture Moves Me: I like when The Big Bang Theory mixes up the scene pairings so I’m kind of intrigued by what brings together Penny, Sheldon and Raj. I like the idea of Raj moving in with Sheldon. It doesn’t seem like Sheldon deals all that well with change. Is this move going to be temporary? How long will Priya and Leonard last? Inquiring minds want to know. Plus, the three friends appear to be drinking in this picture. Does Sheldon seem to be partaking too? A sauced-up Sheldon may be even funnier than a sauced-up Amy Farrah Fowler.
Episode: “The Change in the Game”
Airdate: Thursday May 19 @ 9/8C on FOX
FOX Synopsis: The unidentifiable and gruesome remains of a male bowler are found lodged in the automatic pinsetter of a bowling lane. Brennan’s father, Max Keenan, is a member of the victim’s bowling team, but currently sidelined with an injury. With no clear lead in the case, Booth and Brennan go undercover and join the very competitive bowling team in hopes of finding clues about the victim. Upon meeting the victim’s teammates, including an arrogant 12-year-old bowling prodigy, it becomes apparent there could be many suspects in the case. Meanwhile, a very pregnant Angela anticipates her labor at any moment, but continues to work diligently via webcam to identify the murder weapon from the hospital.
Why This Picture Moves Me: Angela and Hodgins have been so worried that their baby was going to be born blind. A one-in-four chance is still a chance. This picture makes me wonder where Hodgins is – probably unconscious somewhere because he worked himself into such a frenzy. I love that he freaked out when Angela had some false contractions a few weeks ago. He’s so cute (but manic!) in the way he’s trying to be the perfect daddy-to-be. This picture makes me think their little bundle of joy is healthy and happy. And I love that Brennan and Booth decided to go with a stuffed rabbit. It tells us a lot about the state of that relationship.
Show: The Office
Episode: “Search Committee Parts 1 and 2”
Airdate: Thursday May 19 @ 9/8C on NBC
NBC Synopsis: THE SEARCH BEGINS FOR A NEW MANAGER – JIM CAREY, WILL ARNETT, RICKY GERVAIS, CATHERINE TATE, JAMES SPADER, RAY ROMANO, AND KATHY BATES GUEST STAR. Jim (John Krasinski) heads a search committee that interviews candidates, including Andy (Ed Helms) and Darryl (Craig Robinson). Dwight (Rainn Wilson) tries to get back in the race. Jenna Fischer, B.J. Novak, Mindy Kaling, Paul Lieberstein, Oscar Nunez, Brian Baumgartner, Angela Kinsey, Phyllis Smith, Leslie David Baker, Kate Flannery, Creed Bratton, Ellie Kemper and Zach Woods also star.
Why This Picture Moves Me: There are a lot of guest stars in this season finale of The Office. As the search to replace Michael Scott takes front-and-center, no guest star appearance intrigues me more than Jim Carey (well, maybe Ricky Gervais). It’s good to see the big screen superstar back on the small screen where he once used to shine in one of my favorite sketch comedy shows ever — In Living Color. In this picture he looks very un-Jim Carey-like.
Show: The Mentalist
Episode: “Strawberries & Cream Parts 1 and 2”
Airdate: Thursday May 19 @ 10/9C on CBS
CBS Synopsis: Red John’s mole is finally revealed and Patrick Jane comes face-to-face with the serial killer in an explosive confrontation that leads to shocking repercussions, on a special two-hour third season finale of THE MENTALIST, Thursday (9:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.
Why This Picture Moves Me: This picture moves me on a couple of levels. Lisbon is giving Jane her quintessential look of disdain that she frequently gives him whenever he is totally out of line. I think it’s hilarious that Lisbon is getting stuck in a PINK dress. Her tomboy sensibilities are totally outraged. I’m picturing Jane making some very sly comment to her that’s complimenting her and slightly insulting her at the same time. These two have a great dynamic that I enjoy watching from season to season. I’m really looking forward to the finale of The Mentalist.
Episodes: “Let it Bleed” and “The Man Who Knew Too Much”
Airdate: Friday May 20 starting at 8/7C on The CW
CW Synopsis (“Let it Bleed”): A demon kidnaps Ben (guest star Nicholas Elia) and Lisa (guest star Cindy Sampson) to get to Dean (Jensen Ackles). Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean are forced to join with an unlikely ally to free them. John Showalter directed the episode written by Sera Gamble.
CW Synopsis (“The Man Who Knew Too Much”): The wall comes down in Sam’s (Jared Padalecki) head and all hell breaks loose. Dean (Jensen Ackles) and Bobby (Jim Beaver) are, for once, at a total loss on how to help him and are forced to stand by and do nothing while Sam breaks. The battle for heaven comes to a head. Robert Singer directed the episode written by Eric Kripke.
Why These Pictures Move Me: In the “Let it Bleed” photo, it’s obvious, right? We know Lisa and Ben have been kidnapped but Lisa has clearly been taken over by something. This is going to be tough for Dean to handle but I can’t wait. Will this episode be the end of Ben and Lisa in Dean’s life? They might not necessarily die but they might disappear from his life forever after it’s all over. And while the picture for “The Man Who Knew Too Much” is pretty nondescript, that’s why I chose it. None of the pictures for “TMWHKTM” give anything away unlike the ones for “Let it Bleed.” We know it’s a heavy Sam episode and his wall is finally going to come down. This picture features only three members of Team Free Will because Cas is doing his own thing. Are Sam, Dean and Bobby currently looking for him in this still? I hope we’re not too shattered by the end of this episode.

Who can you trust? If this episode of The Catch was any indication, the answer is just about nobody. What They Said: Top 4 Quotable Moments from Black Sails “XXIII”
The dialogue in “XXIII” is phenomenal. It’s always a fun ride when Black Sails carries its viewers along without giving them the chance to catch their breath. When an episode moves at this unforgiving pace, there is no chance for a breather nor is there a respite from the information…
What Lucifer Said: Favorite quotes from Supernatural “O Brother, Where Art Thou?”

What They Said: The Flash, “Legends Of Today” and Arrow, “Legends Of Yesterday”
Two nights of Arrow + The Flash = what more could we ask for?! I don’t know what it is about blending these shows, but I can’t help but feel that every time they come together, they somehow become greater than the sum of their parts. And that’s saying a lot…

Shoot outs. Fake outs. And long-awaited revelations. “Little Bo Bleep” was a jam-packed episode that wrapped up some loose ends and totally frayed others. Â It finally gave us one Sarkissian in jail and pulled back the curtain on Briggs’ master plan, but it also set up Jakes for a world…

3 Moments of Goodness from Brooklyn Nine-Nine “Johnny and Dora”
The most satisfying part of this season’s finale has to the Jake and Amy kiss. Well, they kiss three times but the last one is the best one — and it means something. The Charles and Rosa dynamic was also great. I love how she’s convinced he doesn’t know anything…
