Am I glad the girls seems to be getting along after the drama from last week? Yes. Do I think Alexandria is still a pill? Yes, but she takes some great photos and she is so good in person. I hate to say it but she might be the one to beat.

This week I thought I’d do something a little different. I want to look at each girl’s photo and discuss what I like, what I don’t, and what I think they need to improve on to get somewhere in this business. As an honorary fifth judge, I feel this is my duty! Let’s get to it.Molly

This is such a strong photo. I love what Molly’s doing here and I think she’s showing the dress off beautifully. But her problem is her “off” moments. When the camera is down or she thinks people aren’t looking she turns into a complaining whiner. It’s not cute and I’m tired of it. I know her competitive spirit is driving her to win and improve, but I can’t take her constant carping anymore. I mean, she lost out on the Lana Marks campaign because of her attitude. Not good. I’m not sure she can redeem herself (to me) at this point but I would like to see her act more professional when she’s on set or at go-sees.
Alexandria

For me, this shot is all about the closeup. I think it’s interesting here and would make me look again but I like the closeup on Alexandria’s face. Even though I’m not a fan, Alexandria takes good photos and she’s very winning in person. I think she knows what she needs to do to book the job and she goes after it. I’m hesitant to say she’s earned my respect, but I am impressed. The only note I’d give her is to try to keep her opionions to herself like she seems to have been doing more and more of lately. I think she’s reigned herself in considerably so that is a huge improvement. I no longer want her to go home (unless she takes a bad photo, that is); I want to see what she can do.
Kasia

I love Kasia but I do not care for this photo. With her it either seems like she kills it during the photo shoot or she fizzles; there is no inbetween. I want her to kill it every time because I love her personality and I love her body. I don’t know if there’s anything I think she can do to improve. Maybe she needs to work on her confidence? Or maybe she needs to make sure she’s in the right mindset for every single shoot. I don’t know. I just want more from her and she needs to find out fast how to get there.
Hannah

I’ve been a fan since the beginning but she definitely has a confidence issue. Or maybe the problem is that she has trouble controling her face. And the producers have made her come off as sort of a ditz. I have no problem with that but it probably doesn’t do anything good for you if the people you want to work with think you’re dumb. So I’d like to see her work on appearing more confident and competent. Is she high fashion? Maybe not but this pose is fierce and I think she could get some great editorial work. I don’t think she’s got what it takes to win ANTM but she could definitely get steady work in the biz.
Brittani

Words cannot express how much I love this photo. I think it is stunning and would have been flawless if she’d done something with that leg that’s peeking out. Brittani had a lot to prove this week – to herself, the judges, and the other models. And I think she came through with flying colors. She’s learned her lesson and moved on. And I’m glad she felt she had to work so hard this week during her photo shoot. Trya said it looked like she was trying too hard, but I disagree. Again, I didn’t see her film so I can’t comment on that but I love that she got down and dirty. I like that she tried different things to showcase herself, her dress, and her surroundings. I’m still team Brittani.
Jaclyn

I love Jaclyn but this photo is doing nothing for me. She is the sweetest kid but I’ve had problems with her photos before. She has taken some stunning shots (the brunette group shot and her crazy makeup shot) but she’s gotten notes on her arms and her mouth before, and that’s what does her in here. I do hope she keeps working on her portfolio because she’s the type of person you want good things to happen to.
A note about the shoot location: I enjoyed that they worked with trash this week and that they’re dresses were eco-friendly. It was a dynamic location (the birds, the machinery, etc). The girls had to show they could adapt and some did that beautifully. I think Mr. Jay didn’t adapt so well though, especially after he got pooped on. A few times.
Next stop: Marrakesh, Morocco. I am totally and completely jealous. I hope they get to spend a little time as tourists while they’re there.
