Guest Star Goodness

It Was So Good To See You (Week of March 7th)

The guest stars this past week on some of my favorite TV shows were, once again, included some familiar faces especially to those who enjoy sci-fi programming and a certain show about escaping from a prison.

Christopher Jacot

First, there was actor Christopher Jacot, who appeared in the season finale of White Collar playing the part of a jewelry “fence” for whom both Willie Garson‘s Mozzie and Matthew Bomer‘s Neal used in order to track down Alex (Gloria Votsis).  To those who watch the Syfy series Eureka you will recognize Chris as Larry Haberman, the Global Dynamics rival of one Douglas Fargo (Neil Grayston).  Chris has also appeared in the made-for-TV movie Come Dance at My Wedding, episodes of Psych, Smallville, Supernatural and Battlestar Galactica as well as one year on the long-running Canadian series Degrassi: The Next Generation.

Meanwhile over on the FX hit series Justified Jim Beaver, best known for his role of Bobby Singer on the CW series Supernatural, appeared as the mine officer worker in charge of the payroll.  While his role wasn’t that large in this particular episode the storyline that revolved around him was essential to the overall episode.  Besides his work on Supernatural, Jim has appeared in the short-lived shows Harper’s Island and John from Cincinnati; made guest appearances on Law & Order: Los Angeles, Psych, The Mentalist and Lie to Me and appeared in two seasons of the highly acclaimed series Deadwood.

Cindy Sampson

Then over on the Syfy remake of the British hit Being Human another Supernatural veteran guest star made an appearance.  Actress Cindy Sampson played the next door neighbor of the show’s three roommates: Aidan, Josh and Sally.  She is best known as Lisa, the on-again off-again girlfriend of Jensen Ackles‘ Dean Winchester.  Cindy has also appeared in the Canadian series Durham County and the made-for-TV movies The Christmas Choir and Sex & the Single Mom.

Rockmond Dunbar

Rockmond Dunbar, who not only appeared in the popular FOX drama Prison Break but also the short-lived, but critically acclaimed FX series Terriers, showed up in a guest appearance role on The Chicago Code, as the brother-in-law of Jennifer Beals‘ Superintendent Colvin.  Some of Rockmond’s other roles have been in the short-lived series Heartland and appearances on The Game, CSI: Miami, North Shore and Girlfriends.

Lastly, another Prison Break alum – Chris Vance – guest starred on Fairly Legal as the dying member of a one-hit wonder rock trio for whom Sarah Shahi‘s Kate Reed was working a mediation between him and his former bandmates over the rights to their hit single.  Chris has appeared in the short-lived FOX drama Mental; had recurring roles on Burn Notice and Dexter and appeared in the Australia medical drama All Saints.

Much like last week, despite the gluttony of repeats that during March some great guest stars are still popping up on the few shows to air new episodes this month.  I look forward to seeing who will show up next week.
