From 2004 to 2008, actress Diane Neal made an impression on the viewers of Law & Order: SVU in her role as ADA Casey Novak; and in just two episodes of NCIS, she wowed the viewers with her terrific turn as Special Agent Abigail Borin. So, we here at TV Goodness have to ask why doesn’t Diane Neal have her own show?
Given the popularity of her character on Law & Order, perhaps she could have been given a spin-off from that long-running franchise. Better yet, perhaps her role on NCIS could be turned into a regular role in the number one drama or she could become the lead in a second spin-off of this long-running hit with the focus being on the investigations handled by the Coast Guard, which is the agency for which her character Agent Borin works. Or, given the plethora of pilots that are being considered by the networks for next fall, perhaps Diane could be cast in one of them, giving her the opportunity to shine in a brand new role.
Regardless of whether she is given a spin-off of either of the shows mentioned above or if she is cast in a lead role in a new show, Diane Neal is a terrific talent who should not go unnoticed by those in creative control.
