Spin-off Worthy: Bobby & Rufus, Supernatural

A little over a week ago, I had the great opportunity to attend the annual Salute to Supernatural convention that was coordinated by Creation Entertainment. Among the guests the day for which I attended included series guest stars like Traci Dinwiddie (Pamela Barnes), Richard Speight, Jr. (Trickster/Gabriel) and Mark Sheppard (who played Crowley). They were joined by series regular Misha Collins (Castiel) and longtime recurring guest star Jim Beaver (Bobby).During Jim’s time on the stage for his Q&A with the exuberant audience, the discussion turned to his character Bobby Singer and fellow hunter Rufus (played by Steven Williams) in regards to their possibly ever getting a spin-off series.

While the chances of the CW picking up a show about two 60-year-old supernatural hunters is slim to none (which was how Jim joked about it to the audience), the idea certainly went over famously with the audience.

On the other hand, there was the conversation with series guest star Mark Sheppard who joked with the audience that his character could also get a spin-off called The Adventures of Crowley, to which garnered lots of laughs from the audience.

Neither of these spin-offs may ever happen at the CW, but wouldn’t it be great to see them happen?

If you are a fan of Supernatural, do you have a favorite character who you would like to see get their own spin-off? Please share.
