Moment of Goodness: Hank Tells It Like It Is on Terriers

If you’re not watching Terriers (and WHY?), please allow me to direct you to a gem of a moment of goodness at the end of last week’s episode, “Agua Caliente,” which found Hank on the receiving end of a bullet when he jumped into the fray to save Katie, who’s not his girlfriend, but his partner Britt’s girlfriend, and therefore, family. This was after going to Tijuana to fetch Britt’s ass out of jail. Hank is lying on the gurney, next to Katie’s professor, who’s sitting on the bumper of an ambulance waiting for attention because he got caught up in the commotion while returning her cell phone. Hank amiably shoots the shit with him, asking him if he has a family, if he’s married, and then he slowly gets to his point, telling the professor very plainly and calmly that he shouldn’t step out on his wife with his students (as he did with Katie). He goes on to tell him that if he finds out he’s done it again, he’ll make the appropriate calls to everyone, everywhere who might ever give him another teaching job to make sure that they don’t. Then he falls silent while the professor, also shocked silent, takes it in. Donal Logue as Hank, and the direction by John Dahl, are GENIUS. Watch Terriers tonight on FX at 10 pm EDT and throughout the week. Catch up with earlier episodes at
