WARNING: Mild spoilers

On last week’s Aftermath, the family drama was cranked up to high thanks to a visit with dear old psycho grandpa and a rift between the twins.

Dana proved she knew her sis better than anyone when she offed the shapeshifter looking exactly like her sister during their barroom smackdown. Before shooting said shifter, Dana and Brianna were battling each other. Brianna’s overprotective streak was in overdrive. She pretty much acted like Dana was her much younger sibling.

Dana wanted to get drunk after everything’s she’s been through. Brianna didn’t want her sister to go the self-destructive route so she made her virgin drinks and let her think they were the real thing. After Dana let loose with some harsh words she, ultimately, couldn’t blame her rant on being drunk. Because she was actually sober the entire time. Ouch.

Karen’s father seemed to want to mend fences with his daughter and wanted to anoint Matt his successor of sorts. Trying to kill Josh isn’t the way to get back on the Copelands good side. Sorry, grandpa. The man is clearly a bad dad and has been for a long time. It looked like he was going to be able to turn things around. But his hoarding tetracycline and lacing it with something potentially lethal wasn’t the way to go either.

Josh stumbled into some of Grandpa’s secrets and paid the price. He was forced to swallow some sort of peyote/LSD-type drug and went on a crazy hallucinogenic trip where he saw his dad (who looked younger than him). He learned he was an “adept.” It’s being inferred over and over again that there’s something special about the Copeland family. What in the world is an “adept?” And how special are they?

Josh couldn’t catch a break. After leaving grandpa behind, he started coughing up blood. You know what that means.

In tonight’s episode, Josh isn’t the only adult in a bad way. Both he and Karen struggle for two very different reasons.

With a family member showing plague symptoms, the Copelands go on a desperate hunt to find tetracycline, but strangers can be just as desperate.

5 Things to look forward to:

  • Shapeshifter jokes
  • More family drama
  • Supportive family moments
  • A super creepy episode (like really creepy)
  • Brianna asks a very important question

Plus, we know that things are going to get much, much worse before they get better, right? That is, if they ever get better. Well, it probably goes without saying, but prepare for things to go from bad to worse. Way worse.
