[Warning: General spoilers ahead.]

This week on 12 Monkeys, we take it all the way back to the origin story of the Emerson Hotel suite, and the new starting point (maybe) for the plague when Jones sends Cole and Cassie back to 1944 to track down Vivian (Scottie Thompson), the Cerulean Blue gal who successfully leapt with one of the Blue boys before the machine was blown up in the season premiere.

We also get see a lighter shade of Cole as he finds out he quite likes 1944 while Cassie is still 99.9% all business, but they do find time to create the 1944 photo we glimpsed last week. The larger mission is about trying to stay a step ahead of whatever Vivian is up to, while also staying off the radar of the military and the police, which is easier said than done when they wind up at a military benefit gala (hence the fancy dress and tux). Continuum fans get an added treat of Erik Knudsen in a wink, nod guest role. And just an FYI, the episode is also a little bit of a two-parter, with the 1944 arc continuing next week.
