Rewind and Repeat Moment: The Castle and Beckett Handshake of Love, Castle “Secret’s Safe with Me”

It’s official. I’m totally digging Castle and Beckett being together — even in secret. Well, it’s not a complete secret anymore. Both Martha and Alexis now know, which makes sense. Castle wouldn’t want to keep such a huge development from his family. He had to smooth things over with Beckett after letting her know that his family knows, but it didn’t provide too much of a conflict between them, which was nice.

Before they were together, Rick and Kate had an amazing chemistry. Now that they’re dating or whatever they’re calling their relationship, that chemistry is off the frickin’ charts. Now when they finish each other’s sentences when they’re breaking a case, it’s even more electric than before. The looks they give each other mean so much more — especially when they’re in the middle of a crime scene or in the middle of the precinct. It was in the precinct after the two took a break from hashing out the facts of a case that a great moment happened.

It was getting late. Castle had to go home to be with Alexis for her last night before going off to college. Beckett decided to stay at work. How did they deal with the palpable sexual tension between the two? Especially in a place where no one could ever know they were in a relationship? Only in one of the most unexpectedly sexy ways possible. It was a handshake. The hottest handshake ever to be recorded. It’s true. Please tell me you guys felt the same:

Castle: “I so wish I could kiss you right now.”
Beckett: “Yeah, I know.”
(Castle holds out his hand and Beckett takes it)
Castle: “This is me softly touching your face, pulling you in for a long, slow kiss.”
Beckett: “And this is me kissing you back. Running my hands through your hair.”
Castle: “Best handshake ever.”
Beckett: “Yeah.”

Then the handshake went from sexy to sweaty and the moment was over, but damn. They couldn’t kiss so they had to do the next best thing. That was a spectacularly scorching handshake. And it was a scene I immediately had to rewind and rewatch. Again and again. Nathan Fillion and Stana Katic have a chemistry that cannot be contained. It’s going to be difficult for Castle and Beckett to be together and not have anyone know. It looks like the show deals with that in the next episode by getting them out of town. Smart move.
