Guest Star Goodness

It Was So Good To See You: Guide to Guest Stars (Week of January 8)

I don’t know about you, but not only do I enjoy watching my favorite shows every week but I also love seeing what guest stars are going to show up.

This past week was no exception with some really great appearances starting with actor Ty Olsson showing up as one of the black guards in last Sunday’s episode of Once Upon a Time. Ty is best known for his work on Battlestar Galactica, Men in Trees, Eureka, and the short-lived series Defying Gravity. He has also appeared in episodes of Psych, Hell on Wheels, Supernatural, Stargate: SG-1, and Andromeda.

Then over on Castle on Monday night, actress Jaime Ray Newman appeared as a lawyer who got suckered by a pick-up artist who ended up dead. Jaime has a long TV resume, including recurring roles on Eureka, Drop Dead Diva, Veronica Mars, and Lincoln Heights. She had a series regular role in the short-lived series Eastwick and has recently appeared in episodes of Grimm, NCIS, and CSI: NY.

Actor Brett Cullen appeared on the Tuesday night episode of Body of Proof, as the police captain. Brett also has a long resume of TV and movie roles, including recent appearances on Person of Interest, Make It or Break It, Damages, and the short-lived series The Gates. He is probably best known, though, for his recurring roles on Lost and Friday Night Lights. He also appeared in the 1990’s mini-series The Thorn Birds.

On the new episode of Revenge on Wednesday night, actor Roger Bart appeared as the author who wrote the tell-all book on Amanda’s father. Roger is, of course, best known for his role on Desperate Housewives, but he has also appeared on the short-lived series The Event and guest starred in episodes of Human Target, Medium, and CSI: Miami.

Over on Friday night, actors Jason Dohring and Nicholas Lea both appeared on Supernatural, starring as the God of Time and Eliot Ness respectively. Jason, of course, is best known for his role on the critically-acclaimed Veronica Mars and the short-lived Moonlight. He has also appeared in episodes of Roswell, Lie to Me, CSI, and The Division. Most recently he has been appearing in a recurring role in Ringer. Nicholas is best known for his role on The X-Files and he has guest starred in Once Upon a Time, CSI, Andromeda, Men in Trees, Kyle XY, and the short-lived remake of V.

Lastly, on last night’s season finale of Leverage, a lot of familiar faces made a return visit to help the team take down an old (and new) foe. The returning faces included Wil Wheaton, Richard Chamberlain, Clayne Crawford and Kari Matchett. Additionally, actor Saul Rubinek appeared as the man who originally put the team together and was hell-bent on revenge against Nathan. Saul has been appearing on the popular sci-fi series Warehouse 13 for the past few seasons and he appeared in several of the Jesse Stone tv movies.
